Provision Center for Proton Therapy - Radiation Oncologist
The Provision Proton Therapy Center is seeking a board certified or board eligible Radiation Oncologist. Proton Therapy experience is desirable, but not required. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded skill set to treat the whole patient. This candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is willing to build community ties and develop patient referrals. He/She will display great interpersonal skills, a strong adherence to best practices, and a passion for patient care and team support.
This position will be part of a team of radiation oncologists and other support personnel dedicated to patient care. The position will work closely with the Medical Director and fellow physicians for the strategic growth of the Proton Therapy program as well as development of protocols and processes for the center through research and collaboration. The Provision Healthcare campus is a partnership among several major healthcare providers including Tennessee Cancer Specialists (the largest Medical Oncology practice in East Tennessee), the Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center (one of the largest breast health centers in the country), Provision Diagnostic Imaging, Provision Radiation Therapy, the Center for Biomedical Research, University Associated Radiologists, Provision Radiopharmacy, Provision Physical Therapy, and Provision Health and Wellness.
The Provision Proton Therapy Center consists of a three-treatment room center located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The center treated its first patient in January 2014. It is equipped with IBA equipment including 2 gantries and 1 fixed beam unit with pencil beam scanning technologies. Two additional rooms are being constructed for future compact gantries developed by our own proton equipment manufacturing company ProNova Solutions. Provision serves a multi-state area of the Southeastern United States.
East Tennessee is a family oriented area that boasts of the nearby Great Smoky Mountains as well as many lakes, rivers, and streams. Knoxville is the home of the University of Tennessee and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which brings quality education, culture, athletics, and diversity to the area.
